Work takes up a lot of screen time these days. Emails, meetings, project management tools, LinkedIn, spreadsheets, WhatsApp, calendars – most professional life happens online in one way or another. That also means the internet can either make religious practice easier or simply add more noise to an already busy day.

There are actually quite a few useful Islamic resources online. Some are built specifically for Muslims, while others are simply good digital tools that happen to make it easier to keep certain parts of daily life organised. A few that are worth keeping bookmarked are listed below.

    Table of Contents

    • 1.    Productive Muslim
    • 2.    Muslim Professional and Islamic Finance Resources
    • 3.    Quran.com
    • 4.    Prayer and Time-Management Apps
    • 5.    Yaqeen Institute
    • 6.    Zakat Calculator for Easier Financial Planning

    1.    Productive Muslim

Productivity advice is everywhere. Wake up earlier. Finish more tasks. Plan every minute. Get more done. That approach doesn’t work for everyone, and it doesn’t necessarily leave much room for things outside work.

Productive Muslim looks at productivity from an Islamic perspective. Its content covers habits, time management, energy, focus, Ramadan, personal development and the connection between productivity and purpose. For someone working long hours or managing a demanding career, that can be more useful than another generic productivity checklist. The idea is fairly simple: being productive isn’t only about how much gets done. How time is used matters too. That’s something worth remembering when work starts taking over the entire day.

    2.    Muslim Professional and Islamic Finance Resources

Career growth isn’t just about getting another qualification or updating a LinkedIn profile. Networking matters. So does knowing how to handle money responsibly. Muslim professional communities can be useful for finding people working in similar industries, exchanging advice and discovering opportunities. Sometimes a conversation with someone who understands the same professional and cultural environment is more useful than scrolling through hundreds of generic career posts.

There are also Islamic finance resources worth following, especially for anyone who’s earning, investing or running a business. Topics such as halal investing, ethical finance and responsible wealth management can get complicated quickly. Having a few reliable sources bookmarked means there’s somewhere sensible to start when a financial question comes up. It’s much better than trying to figure everything out from a random social media post.

    3.    Quran.com

A Quran app doesn’t sound particularly unusual anymore, but having one that’s actually easy to use makes a difference. Quran.com allows users to read and listen to the Quran, compare translations, search for verses and access tafsir and other study material. The platform also offers learning and reading tools. That makes it practical for people who don’t have a lot of spare time.

A few minutes during a lunch break. Listening while travelling. Reading before starting work. Even searching for a particular verse when something comes to mind. It doesn’t have to become another task on a never-ending daily checklist. Sometimes the easiest way to build a habit is simply to remove the effort involved in getting started.

    4.    Prayer and Time-Management Apps

For anyone working in an office, attending meetings across different time zones or travelling regularly, prayer times can sometimes become difficult to keep track of. This is where a simple prayer app can help.

Apps such as Pillars allow users to check prayer times and keep them visible during the day. Instead of remembering to check manually, the information is already there. And there’s a practical side to this. If a meeting is being planned around 1:30, for example, knowing the prayer time beforehand makes it easier to organise the schedule without having to rearrange everything later.

The same thing applies to travel. Having prayer times available before leaving for an unfamiliar place is one less thing to worry about. It sounds minor, but small conveniences are often what make routines easier to maintain.

    5.    Yaqeen Institute

Not every Islamic question has a quick answer. Modern work can bring up questions about ethics, money, ambition, workplace behaviour, relationships and personal responsibility. Searching for a one-line answer online isn’t always enough, particularly when the subject is complicated.

Yaqeen Institute publishes research, articles, videos and educational material covering a wide range of modern issues from an Islamic perspective. Its material on productivity is a good example. One discussion looks at the idea of “true productivity” and the difference between simply completing more tasks and using time in a meaningful way. That kind of content is useful when the question is bigger than “how can more work get done?”

    6.    Zakat Calculator for Easier Financial Planning

Financial responsibilities can be easier to manage when the right information is available at the time it’s needed. Zakat has its own rules and conditions, and it’s different from voluntary charity. For professionals managing salaries, savings, investments or other eligible assets, working out the amount due can sometimes feel like another complicated financial task.

A zakat calculator can make the practical side of the process easier by helping organise the figures and understand the amount that may be due. It can be particularly useful when reviewing finances annually instead of trying to work everything out at the last minute.

However, it’s still important to understand the underlying Zakat rules and eligibility requirements, especially where finances are more complicated. A calculator is a practical tool, not a replacement for proper guidance.

Keeping a Few Useful Resources Close

There’s no need to bookmark fifty Islamic websites and then never open any of them. A few genuinely useful ones are enough. The same idea applies to everything else. A Quran resource makes reading more accessible. A prayer app makes planning around salah easier. A professional network can help with career connections. Research from a credible Islamic institute can provide more context when a difficult question comes up.

None of these tools replaces personal responsibility or religious learning. They simply make some parts of everyday life a little easier to manage. And with how much time is already spent online for work, using some of that digital space for things that actually add value seems fairly reasonable.
